Details: Can you keep a secret? Well… we can’t about this anymore! We are excited to announce Kayla Moffatt’s very first solo art exhibition entitled ‘Secrets’!
Join us Friday, April 7th, 2023 from 5:30pm-7:30pm for the Opening Reception of the exhibit at the 2nd Floor Community Gallery Space of SouthState Bank in Ocala, Florida. The show will run from April 8th, 2023-June 15th, 2023.
Brand-new, never before seen abstract artwork from artist Kayla Moffatt’s new Secrets collection will be on display. There will also be light refreshments, food, drinks, and music! It’s going to be a fun night!
ARTIST STATEMENT
It starts with a process… putting words on a canvas, usually a memory or thought and that emotion gets poured into every stroke of the brush and every mark made. The one rule artist Kayla Moffatt has always had was never revealing the secrets of her paintings, wanting the painting to speak for itself. In this collection, aptly named the Secrets Collection, she’s written down some of her most closely held memories of her life – the good, the bad, the sad, and even the some she’s never told a soul. Each secret covered by the vibrant colors and tones of her paintings. Deriving inspiration for color palettes from the natural landscapes and vibrant cities of her home state of Florida. Underneath each visually striking painting lies a secret, that each collector who acquires a painting from this collection will be let in on the secret of their painting.

ABOUT ARTIST KAYLA MOFFATT
Kayla Moffatt is an intuitive, abstract painter from Ocala, Florida. For most of her life, painting remained a private creative outlet. In 2019 she would begin to take local commissions. By 2021, she was accepting commissions from collectors across the state of Florida and being selected for local gallery shows, such as The Best of the Best 2021 at The Brick Gallery and the 2022 Student and Emerging Artist Exhibition hosted by the City of Ocala. She has also been featured in publications, like Ormond Magazine’s July/August 2022 issue cover artist.
